There are no recognized tech company in south-south! This is why I said so

Any tech hand or ICT company claiming giant in south-south should just save their breath! We have no tech company yet in south-south, all we have are mushrooms, I stand to be corrected .
I apologies if you are offended by my approach but read till the end to understand my personal thoughts and reasons for these assessment.
My name is Engr. Ezekwere Ndubuisi Henry the Nigerian president for SEO as fondly called, I am a tech head who have been directly and indirectly involved in many startup projects.
Tech was touted as the next big thing after the Oil and gas in Nigeria but the truth is that Tech have better future comparing the two industry, I can categorically state so someone who have majored in the both industry, but that’s discussion for another day.
The discussion for today is that the south-south and the south-east people of Nigeria are lagging behind and not maximizing the full potentials and benefits tech brings .
Some years ago I left tech for the Oil and gas in pursuit of passion and vision to raise many technical hands for the Oil and Gas industry, so I build Oil Train www.oiltrain.org, Oil Train is achieving that goal.
The Tech industry in Nigeria has exploded since I left, many tech hands are doing us proud as a nation and am very happy to witness I must say that however, I am sincerely not happy that Tech expansion in Nigeria is going almost one-sided.
I said that because major tech breakthroughs is only happening in Lagos.
Lagos based tech companies are cashing out everything, why is that so?
To mention put a few, you all are well aware of the recent expansion and seed capital raising of the tune of about over $8 million raised by PAYSTACK in 2018 and $200 million sales to stripes in 2020,
Just this week fluiterwave have raise $170M, just like that! Why don’t we hear this kind of great news happening to tech companies in Port Harcourt, Enugu and other south and eastern cities? Is there something we don’t know?
The fund raising mentioned above are only the very pronounced once however there are more and more Tech big deals announcements made every day from the city of Lagos.
The question now is why only from Lagos?
There are no justification because tech tools can be found in every part of the country, that’s to say every tool used in Lagos can be found in Port Harcourt, Enugu and even in Imo state, so why then are there no tech giants spring up from these other states?
The first answer to this question is that there are no corroboration and corporation down here, so everyone in tech here are just all self-dependent,
- They depend on their limited product and customer requirement knowledge
- The depend on the on marketing ability
- They depend on their branding knowledge alone and that’s almost too micro to push anyone out.
More answers will be will be reveal in the first ever south-south, south-east tech round table holding in Port Harcourt on the 27th of March 2021.
